Teacher’s Reflection

I’ve found it quite easy as all vocabulary is familiar and can be applied to each student’s family. I believe I’ll use a comprehension passage next time to make students elicit the new vocabulary in addition to grammatical rules in the unit.

Behavioral Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to;
1-   Use the possessive case with (’s + singular noun)
2-   Use (is / are called) and (is married to + somebody).
3-   Use (have / has got + sons / daughters).

Students will learn to differentiate between these grammatical rules.

Objectives:

4-   Put the new vocabulary about family and jobs in their own meaningful context.

The vocabulary that is in the tape scripts, deals with family members and their jobs.

Warm-up:
Where does a housewife work?
What do mechanics do?

Introduction:
What jobs can you think of right now?
I can think of a businessman, a sales assistant, a doctor, a teacher, a farmer, a nurse, a baker, a secretary, a postman etc.

Presentation:
I’ll write these examples on the board and ask students to fill in the gaps with words from the list:
