General objectives of the whole unit




In unit 3, students will learn to:

1-   Use the possessive case with (’s).
2-   Talk about families and jobs.
3-   Describe themselves and what they want to be.
4-   Use (is/are called).
5-   Use personal pronouns.
6-   Use the present simple.


The Content of the Unit
It contains three lessons whose preparations are shown below:

Behavioral Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to;
1-   Talk about families and jobs.
2-   Describe themselves and what they want to be.

Content:
In the tape scripts, a student introduces herself and the members of her family and another gives us information about his family members’ jobs. 

Warm-up:
Could you tell me your full name? Does your parent have any siblings?
What’s your grandmother’s name? How many cousins have you got?

Presentation:
I’ll play the first tape script (in Ex.1 SB p. 12) twice and they are to answer the following exercise.
Fill in the blanks with words from the listening text:
1-   Soha Zaki is ……………….. years old.
2-   Her…………………… is called Nabila.
3-   Kamal is her …………………., but ……………… is her aunt.
4-   Salma is her little………………..
5-   Nadia is her………………, but ……………….. is her father.
Next I’ll get students to give the full name of the girl, which members are married or single? Then students will listen to the second tape script (in Ex.3 SB p. 12) twice as well and after that answer these questions on their own.
1-   Where does Kamal live? What’s his job? Is he married or single?
2-   What does Sara work? Where does she live with her husband?
3-   What type of company does Hesham work for? Could you tell where he lives?
